Neurosurgery Session - Colloid Cyst

Colloid Cyst Removal, performed by Dr. Sergiu Stoica awaits to be discovered and carefully watched, giving away some secrets from one of the most interesting, but least known, systems of our body: the central nervous system. A colloid cyst is a benign, fluid-filled sac present in the third ventricle of the brain, which can cause conditions such as hydrocephalus. The cyst is removed through minimally invasive craniotomy, gently draining the contents and resecting the remaining cyst wall.

Aortic Stenosis - Cardiac Surgery Session

Aortic stenosis is the narrowing of the heart’s aortic valve. The only definitive therapy for the condition is replacement of the defective aortic valve. Team of doctors: Dr. Gheorghe Cerin, Dr. Horia Muresian, Dr. Theodor Cebotaru, Dr. Razvan Ticulescu; Monza Hospital.

Robotic Prostatectomy - Urology Session

A minimally invasive procedure. Using the advanced surgical system, miniaturized robotic instruments are passed through several small, "keyhole" incisions in the patient's abdomen, allowing the surgeon to approach the prostate and nearby tissues with great precision. The surgery is performed without the surgeon's hands entering the patient's body cavity. Dr. Andrea Minervini, Caraggi University Hospital, Firenze.
