If you register as an active participant, that means that you wish to engage in the Scientific Competition. Being an active participant means being a Presenting Author of a scientific paper (Oral or Poster presentation) or a participant in the Debate Session.
Co-authors of a scientific paper can be active participants if they are Presenting authors of a different scientific paper. Otherwise, they can be Passive participants or non-attending.
As you pay the Presenting Author fee, you assume the responsibility for sending an abstract before the deadline (8th of September 2019). For more abstract submission guidelines, check the Student Scientific Session section (hyperlink).
If before the abstract submission deadline, you wish to switch your account to a Passive one, you can do so by accessing the option from your Extras section in your account. You will have to pay a remaining amount between the Active and Passive pack of your selected choice.
After the deadline, if you do not submit an abstract, your account will automatically become a Passive participant account and you have until the 22nd of September 2019 to pay the difference for the Regular Fee of the Passive participation pack or until the 8th of October to pay the difference for the Late Fee Passive participation pack. If you have a Premium Package, you will have to pay the 10 EUR difference for the Passive participation pack. After the deadline, if you do not pay the difference, your account becomes inactive and your fee is non-refundable.
If you submit an abstract which is NOT accepted in the Scientific Competition, You may still attend the Congress as a Passive Participant or ask for a refund. If you wish to become a Passive Participant, you can pay the remaining difference for the Regular Fee of the Passive participation pack until the 8th of October 2019. If you have a Premium Package, you will have to pay the 10 EUR difference for the Passive participation pack.
If not, you should ask for a full refund at treasurer@surgicon.ro until the same deadline. If you neither pay for Passive participation, nor ask for a refund until the 8th of October 2019, your account becomes inactive and your fee is non-refundable.
All packs include a digital copy of the certificate of attendance. You will receive your certificate only if you meet the participation criteria:

If you register as a passive participant, that means you can attend all events organised during the Congress without being a Presenting author of a scientific paper or an Active participant in the Debate Session. PhD students and graduates can register only as Passive participants.
You can update your account from Passive and Active, as long as you take the responsibility of submitting an abstract before the Submission Deadline (8th of September 2019). When we announce the list of accepted abstracts, if your abstract was NOT accepted, your account will remain Passive as it was initially. If your abstract is accepted, then there are two options:
